“Words have the power to both destroy and heal. When words are both true and kind, they can change our world.” ~ the Buddha

I used to underestimate the power of words until I went through a spiritual awakening and understood that every word I think or say has energy that affects my reality. Words became sacred to me, not only because I’m a writer, but because they also serve as a sword and armor to get myself on top of mentally and emotionally challenging life.

And to save myself from thoughts and feelings rooted in fear and that won’t do any better for me, I do mindfulness exercises such as reciting good-energy giving (or positive) affirmations, meditation, and yoga. They help me become more aware of the thoughts I let in my head and have better control over them. In my years of practice, I learned that strengthening mind control doesn’t mean you’ll no longer have negative thoughts. It is about being able to filter the quality of thought energy you welcome into your spirit.

Reciting positive affirmations, out loud or internalizing them in your head, is a good practice to help you choose more beautiful and meaningful thoughts, especially when things start to get disoriented, low, and chaotic. To help you start with the practice, I created 60 Positive Affirmations To Get You Through The Day, divided into three parts so you can have them in the morning, during the day, and at night. (But really, these affirmations work for any part of the day.)

A Few Instructions Before You Start

Words, like energy, align with the state of your spirit. If you use them without deeply intending to serve you, they’ll work for you in vain. But if you believe that they are alive and work as a tool to help you, you will experience their true power and magic.

Here are some instructions before you use positive affirmations to help with the entire day.

  • Let your instinct guide you in choosing the right words for you.
  • Do three mindful deep breaths.
  • Recollect your attention at the center of your forehead. Do this before reciting or internalizing the affirmations that suit your situation.

Incorporate positive affirmations into your life as often as possible, and make it a part of your habit.

positive affirmation at night

Life is a combination of ups and downs, and the truth is, it’s not easy to always be in control of our thoughts and feelings. We are humans, after all. But we cannot ignore the fact that most of our sufferings begin with the thoughts we cannot manage. Positive affirmations, when integrated into your daily living, can help reprogram and shift you from being a negative to a positive thinker.

You may not have control over the things outside yourself, but you can always choose the thoughts you entertain in your head. Positive thinking may not completely change your situation, but it eases fears, lightens the burdens, and leads to a calmer life.

I hope that these positive affirmations may serve you the way you need them. Let me know what your favorites are, and share them in the comments. I’d love to hear what works well for you.
